Golfing in the Philippines is a year-round activity.  The country offers the golf enthusiast a wide range of exciting possibilities as the country’s terrain adapts naturally to the demands of this ancient and royal sport.  Here, golfers will find some fine courses, including a number of championship standard.

The game became more popular in the 1970s and 80s.  In the 1990s, at least a dozen championship courses, with modern club facilities and amenities, were designed or renovated by the world’s golfing greats like Isao Aoki, Freddie Couples, Nick Faldo, Hale Irwin, Bernhard Langer, Greg Norman, Jack Nicklaus, Arnold Palmer, Gary Player and Tom Weiskopf.    Today there are over 60 courses all over the archipelago, 9 of them in National Capitol Region (Metropolitan Manila) alone.

Most clubs are private, but they usually allow nonmembers to play on weekdays when accompanied by a member.  Equipment can be rented at pro shops and green fees and caddy fees are reasonable.
